Conversational Japanese Classes for Beginners

The purpose of this program is to offer language classes taught by professional Japanese language teachers for Japanese necessary for daily life.

Starter Level(A)            Click here for the study materials “Irodori: Starter”
・・・  For people who speak very little Japanese, and can read hiragana and katakana

Beginner Level 1 (B)           Click here for the study materials “Irodori: Beginner 1”
・・・ For people who can talk about what they want to do and what they have done, and can ask questions.
        Persons who have completed the Starter Level (A) course are also eligible.

Beginner Level 2 (C)          Click here for the study materials “Irodori: Beginner 2”
・・・ For people who can talk about where they live and ask for advice when they need help.
          Persons who have completed the Beginner Level 1 (B) course are also eligible.

Pre-Intermediate (D)
・・・ Persons who have completed the Starter Level and Beginner Level (A-C) courses are also eligible.
Students in this course are required to purchase the textbook “Marugoto Beginner and Intermediate.”

Short-Term Classes
Reading & Writing classes
For those who want to develop their reading and writing skills (equivalent to JLPT N4, N5 level).

*Those who register for Beginner or Pre-Intermediate Level classes (B, C, D) must do a preliminary level evaluation. Level evaluations will be conducted via ZOOM or in person after registration.
*As a general rule, students who have not taken the level evaluation are not allowed to take the classes.
Depending on the results of the evaluation, students may be asked to change course levels.
*If your Japanese level is too high, your application may be canceled.
*You may only register for one class.

1.Must be 15 years old or older (JHS students are ineligible)
2.Priority is given to those who live in Kobe City
3.Short-term visitors are not eligible
4.Must be able to attend every class session

Those who have attended at least 25 classes (approx. 70% of the course) will receive a certificate of completion (excluding short-term classes).
You may bring your children.

*Please note that if a child accompanying you makes loud noises or runs around and interferes with others’ studying, you may be asked to leave the room.
